Everyone knows the Muppets – the sweet, lovable, hilarious puppet creatures created by Jim Henson way back in the day, who are still popular today. There’s Kermit the Frog, Ms Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Swedish Chef, Beaker, Animal, and a heck of a lot more. The franchise was even purchased by Disney years back. After many successful films, Muppets Most Wanted will arrive in theaters on March 21 of this year.
Based on the popularity of these characters and the fact that Club Penguin is owned by the same company, it seemed inevitable that the Muppets would eventually end up in the virtual world after the recent takeovers that took the island by storm. But could that day come sooner than later? Signs point to yes.
Above is the first clue of this phenomenon. About two weeks ago on a Field Day, Polo Field confirmed that March’s party would not be the usual Puffle Party and would instead be a completely new party. (For those Puffle Party fans, Spike Hike just confirmed today that it would come just in time for Easter.)
Flash forward a few days back. Polo Field tweeted the above. Obviously someone is a big fan of the Muppets. “Across The Internet” could also mean Club Penguin, as well.
On the same day, Spike Hike retweeted the above from Disney D23. He must love the Muppets, as well. Convinced yet? You will be soon.
Polo Field tweeted this on Friday morning. He said that the March party is still a mystery. Mystery… isn’t that what the new Muppet movie is about? Kermit is framed as the villain called Constantine, who looks identical other than the mole on his cheek. Apparently we will find out what the party is really about after the Prehistoric Party, which starts January 23.
Spike Hike tweeted the above on Saturday night. He acknowledges the rumors about the party and claims that the team never tells him anything with a smile. From personal experience, I know that whenever Spike does that emoticon, he is confirming something in his own sneaky little way.
And finally, the piece de resistance. At yesterday’s Spike Saturday, Spike was visiting random igloos like he usually does when he out of the blue blurted out “What’s your favorite Muppet?” Something must be up. No team member would have said this if there wasn’t any significance behind it. (I’m also curious about which Muppet you like best, so tweet me or comment below!)
So, what do you think? Will there be a Muppets Takeover party in March? Like I said, signs point to yes. This would be the first takeover since August 2013’s Teen Beach Movie Summer Jam. Also, remember when Monsters University released June 21, and the party released on June 27 and not the 20th? The same could happen for the Muppets, because the new film opens on March 21, as not to spoil the movie’s plot. And to top it all off, Club Penguin follows the Muppets on Twitter.
Do you want a Muppets Takeover? Do you think this theory is pretty likely to happen? Leave a comment and let me know!
